It all started around 22 years ago, when I became interested in Barbecue, particularly USA style slow cooked BBQ meat. I made and ate quite a lot! And I came to know that the Americans at that time were way ahead of us Aussies, and were using all sorts of tools, flavourings and ideas that, I at least was unaware of?

And they often mentioned Liquid Smoke, which is used commerciallly in all sorts of products like Bacon, Ham, Sausage etc. That is simply real wood smoke, captured and distilled into water, so that some of the health concerns around tars and resins in woodsmoke were eliminated or at least dramatically reduced.

Our Story

So began my Liquid Smoke journey! While I loved using the various kinds of woods to smoke the many kinds of Sausage and BBQ I had begun making - I had now learned that Liquid Smoke was a much faster, cleaner - and safer way to add that flavour that all of us love and have loved for thousands of years!

So I searched for suppliers, found one and began re-selling one particular brand on eBay for a number of years. As destiny would have it, there was a change of ownership in that supplier and some changes began that I was not satisfied with; so I looked hard and found what I (and my clients) believe is the best tasting Liquid Smoke in Australia today!
